When Police Loots!

With the arrest of four youths and recovery of five stolen four-wheelers and a bike, Nayagarh Police today claimed to have busted the KASHYAP vehicle-lifters’ gang which includes a Policeman from Boudh.

One Bolero, a pick-up van, a tractor, an auto rickshaw and a bike were recovered from the accused. The accused used to sell the stolen vehicles in different places of western Odisha, additional SP Sridhar Pani told in a press conference at Itamati PS.


The whole thing came to light as on 7th of this month, Police arrested 3 youths near Budhabudhian Dam, Odagaon in Nayagarh district. The three looters Silu Nayak, Pratap Mohanty, Ranjeet Nayak from Ranpur confessed their involvement in Kashyap Gang. Their area of operation was Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack and Angul districts. A Special Team of police launched an operation, and from the call details of the accused, they came to know about the involvement of a Havildar named Bijaya Sahani, from Boudh with this gang. The accused used to sell the stolen vehicle in the district of Boudh, Bolangir, Patnagarh and Sambalpur. 8 of the KASHYAP gang including the leader are still at large, the additional SP added.
