Cuttack stuck in traffic as Air Show continues

Biggest Air Show in Odisha by IAF to mark Biju Centenary

The much awaited daredevil sky show by the Indian Air Force (IAF) began here at the Kathojodi river bed as part of the year long birth centenary celebration of former Odisha CM Biju Patnaik, who was also an doyen pilot.

As vehicular movement on the Ring Road is blocked and it causing massive traffic jam in the city. Roads connected to Ring Road are being packed with vehicular congestion. Places like Link Road, Badambadi, Dolamundai, OMP Square and College Square are witnessing severe traffic problems. Even the national highway no 16, passing through the city, is also experiencing heavy vehicular congestion.


Over 3 lakh people from various corners of the state including Governor Dr SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and ministers are witnessing the sky game.

To avoid bird collide with the flights during air show, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation has closed of all meat and fish shops in the city and within 5 kilometre radius of event location.
