Ratha Jatra Wishes from Our Politicians

Indian politicians flooded social media with Ratha Jatra wishes yesterday, as the world celebrated the grand chariot festival of the lord of the universe.

It was an opportunity for celebrated politicians to woo twitteratis and to win religious emotion of the general public.

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, India

Even during his busy schedules in USA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the chance to wish on Ratha Jatra  on Twitter. As the day breaks in USA almost 12 hours late than India, he wished a little bit late yesterday afternoon.

Also he wished all Indians a happy car festival during his prerecorded radio talk Man Ki Baat, yesterday.  There are nationwide newspapers advertisements on Ratha Jatra to popularise Swachh Bharat Mission.

Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik paid a visit to Puri and experienced Lord’s grand festival in many ways. He released a movie “God’s Own People” on Lord Jagannath made by legendary director Nila Madhab Panda.

CM also pulled the holy chariots on BadaDanda (the grand road) in Puri.

He tweeted multiple posts with numerous photographs and events from Puri.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister, India

On 25th June the twitter page of Union minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan was flooded with hundreds of Ratha Jatra wishes. He wished and retweeted others postings too.

In Delhi he joined two separate Ratha Jatra’s at Hauz Khas Jagannath Temple and Tyagraj Nagar Jagannath temple. Also he served the chariots with sweeper service (Chhera Pahara).

Amit Shah, President, BJP

BJP national president Amit Shah too took opportunity to wish on Ratha Jatra.

He also went to Ahmedabad and paid tribute at Jagannath Temple.
