Flyover Collapses: Dharmendra Slams Government

Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Sri Dharmendra Pardhan blamed the government and private organisation for the sad incident of flyover-collapse in  Bhubaneswar.

He grieved for the incident that claimed a life leaving several people injured. In his twitter handle he said the incident happened due to sub-standard work of the flyover. He demanded strong action against those who proven guilty. Further he demanded better medical treatment for the injured labourers.

A part of an under-construction flyover bridge on Cuutack-Puri road in Bhubaneswar collapsed near Bomikhal today afternoon. One man killed, 10 persons injured and it’s suspected that several other persons trapped under the debris.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief at the accident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of the person  killed and also free health service for the injured. He met the injured labourers in capital hospital.

Two senior government engineers Bansidhar Praharaj and  Kishor  Rout were suspended.

Firefighters along with NDRF, ODRAF teams, Army and Dog Squad are being engaged in rescue operation. Three cranes are being engaged in the operation.

Works Department ordered an inquiry into the matter. The flyover is being constructed by city-based developer Panda Infra.
