Navodaya Alumni Association Holds Annual Meet

The second annual meet of Navodaya alumni association of Odisha (NAAO) was organised today. The alumni of 31 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) of Odisha joined the meet from various corner of the world. As of date there are above 30000 alumini of JNV who are serving a society both nationally and internationally. More than 3000 alumni members joined the second annual meet today to share the glory and took pledge for a ‘Swachha, Sabuja O Samruddhaodisha’’- a Theme that all JNVs across the state are going to work for in 2018.

This meet was inaugurated by prayer of NavodayaVidyalaya and lighting of lamp along with chanting of Veda. Welcome address was given by the president of NAAO-Mr.NilachalMohapatra. Mr.Ashabhanu Swain, general secretary of NAAO presented the annual activity report of NAAO.

Felicitation of best students(recent pass-out),best volunteers-NAAO,best jnvians in different fields such as IASs,OASs etc,winner of Navodaya Premier League(NPL) cricket tournament were done at the annual meet.

Chief guest S.M.Pattnaik,VC-Utkal universityin his address mentioned ‘’I am delighted to witness such a vibrant group of alumni from a great organisation called NavodayaVidyalaya.Speaking on the occasion deputy commissioner, Mr.N.K Patel NavodayaVidyalayaSamitisaid‘’I am proud to be a part of Navodaya family for last 3 decades. Children come here to learn and go out to serve,Bhopal region and Dr-ing.

OmkarNathMohanty, VC BPUT- the chief speaker of the meet,shared his wisdom and mentioned,‘’Navodaya has created a vibe and spread the message of serving the society nationaly in Odisha but in India and abroad.

Mr.Aditya Kumar Majhi,vice president of NAAO offered vote of thanks.

This event was marked by special cultural event performed by well-known artist from Navodaya fraternity.the other important activities organised during the NAAO annual meet included:

  1. Mini marathon with the theme Run for Change sponsored by A+ IIT Academy aJNVian venture.
  2. Pledge for swachha,sabuja O samruddha Odisha.
  3. Organ donation pledge by alumni members.
  4. Book launch-JNVain writer-Tina Acharya
  6. Launch of diabetic care week with blood sugar testing of all alumni present at the annual meet.
