Tiger Cub Rescued in Nayagarh

Just after five days of World Wildlife Day celebrated in Odisha, a two year old tiger cub was rescued in Nayagarh district today morning.

The Kalarapatria baby was first spotted roaming near a pond in Kadua village near Rasanga in Gania block. People captured the cub and informed forest department officials immediately.

Nayagarh Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Suresh Chandra Hota rushed to the place and forest department staffs rescued the cub in a safe cage.

Few days back, a female Kalarapatria tiger was spotted in nearby Mahanadi Wildlife Sanctuary during the annual tiger census program. It’s believed that, she might have given birth few cubs and one of which was rescued today.

The rescued tiger will be sent to Nandan Kanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar for health check up.
