Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 34 wayside amenity centres in various parts of the State through a video conference at the Secretariat.
Addressing the public CM said,
It’s a pleasure moment that wayside amenities centres are being inaugurated today at 34 places of the State. These amenities centre have the facilities of toilets, safe drinking water and cafeteria. This will cater to needs of our tourists and especially our women during journey hours.
He further added,
These facilities will also be provided at our other tourist centres. The wayside amenities centres assume much more significance so far clean environment and quality of journey are concerned. Hope, we would use it properly and the Works Department will take care of the maintenance.
Constructed at Rs 1.10 crore, each, the amenity centres along the national highways, state highways and other major roads will have basic facilities like food, drinking water, rest room, toilet and parking facilities for travelers. Besides, facilities like trauma care and vehicle repair units will be added to the fold in coming days.
Sources said total 50 such centres will be constructed at several places across the State in the next phase. The Works Department has been assigned for maintenance of the centres.
