Around twelve thousand people of 11 villages will be benefited
Meramandali, September 5, 2018: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives Bhushan Steel today dedicated a Mobile Primary Health Care Unit for the periphery villagers of its plant located at Kantabania in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
Shri Rajeev Singhal, Managing Director, Bhushan Steel flagged off the Primary Health Care Unit. Present on the occasion included Shri Dharmananda Senapati, Zila Parisada Member, Hindol, Shri Pankaj Pradhan, Sarpanch, Kusupanga Panchyat, Smt Debashree Behera, Sarpanch, Sibapur, Shri Ujjal Chakraborti, outgoing Chief Operating Officer, Bhushan Steel, Shri Manikanta Naik, Chief, Corporate Services, Bhushan Steel, and other officials of the company, villagers from the periphery, etc.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Singhal said, this unit will visit the periphery villages as per the prescribed schedule to provide health care at doorsteps of the villagers and create awareness on preventive measures for various diseases. This is one of the many CSR interventions Bhushan Steel is planning for partnering inclusive growth of the region, he added.
Commending Bhushan Steel for the initiative Smt Behera said, we are happy for launch of this service as many of our villagers, unable to go to hospital, will get treated in the village iteself. We will provide all cooperation to staff of the mobile primary health care unit.
The unit has a trained doctor, a nurse and a pharmacist and necessary medicine. This will benefit about twelve thousand villagers from 11 villages including Sibapur, Kusupanga, Asanbani, Itap, Kurunti, Narendrapur of Odapada block, Nuagaon, Sarpa, Raghunathpur of Hindol block of Dhenkanal district and Talbahal and Ganthigaria of Baranpal block of Angul district.
After takeover of Bhushan Steel, Tata Steel has started work for a Model School at a cost of Rs 5 crore in Hindol block while another school is proposed to be built in Odapada block of Dhenkanal district.
