PECUC Sisumela: Protect Ecology for Future Generation

Bhubaneswar: Every child has the right to grow up in a safe environment, to lead a healthy life and develop positive future prospects. A healthy environment is a precondition for children’s physical and mental health. Without it they cannot grow up and become healthy citizen of society. Keeping this in backdrop PECUC dedicated the 5th day of its Sisumela to Ecological Rights of the children as a part of its special programme “One evening, One theme and Talk by one Expert”. Emphasising it in his talk our guest of the evening Prof C.R Subudhi, Agricultural Engineering, OUAT   further said  that the destruction of ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, climate change, industrial emissions, and deforestation, use of plastic damage the environment, there by affect children’s health worldwide. Necessary preventive steps should be taken to reverse the situation.

The day started with Fine Art & Elocution competition among the children to discover their natural inner talent in a very child friendly atmosphere. In the evening the stage of the Amphitheatre of Ekamra Hat vibrated with the dancing steps of the little stars and the enthralled audience recognized it with their loud applause & praise as this was the day of Modern Dance Competition. The judges for the today’s competition were Manoranjan Mishra, Bandita Das, Shisir Bahinipati, Dilip Ku Jee, Rekha Sahoo & Sharmila Sahoo.

The guests for today’s evening were Mrs. Amita Pattnaik, DPC, SSA, Khordha, Baikuntha Nath Panigrahi, Former Director Doordarshan Kendra,Bhubaneswar, Jatindra Dash, Senior Journalist, Sekhar Chandra, IIT Alumuni & Sulata Deo Eminent Social Activist.

Mr. Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Secretary PECUC, Chairman Sisumela Committe, Mr. Pradosh Kumar Pattanaik, CMrs. Anuradha Mohanty, Executive Director, PECUC also spoke on the occassion. Mrs. Ratna Dash, Mr. Jyoti Sankar Mohanty, Mrs. Jyotirmayee Mahapatra, Mr. Panu Behera, Upama Mohanty, Kabya Sambad, Dr. Sumitra Mohanty, Bijay Senapatin Nilakantha Reddy etc. of PECUC conducted the programme. The performance by the child artists of different cultural group like Dibyajyoti Smrutipitha, Sarala Group, Royal Public School, Nrutya Upasana of Dance Academy appreciated by the audience.
