Bhubaneswar Ready to Showcase Global Hockey Extravaganza

Bhubaneswar: The city of temples, Bhubaneswar is all set to gift the world a never-happened-before sports extravaganza today, as the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018 will start tomorrow. Bhubaneswar is apt for the global sports phenomenon that will keep crores across continents spellbound for next 20 days.

The inaugural ceremony at kalinga stadium today will witness star-studded cultural programmes where Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, AR Rahman and other popular entertainers and legends are ready to enthral audience at the majestic Kalinga Stadium at the heart of the city. Odia actors Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu will also perform in the inaugural ceremony today evening. Around 800 city school and college students will dance with the stars.

As a tribute to Hockey, walls of the city are painted with pictures os star players and hockey related themes. Business houses, shopping malls, offices restaurants, hotels are also have some kind of hockey fever.

Security has been tighten in the city and all guests and players are being provided with high security shields.

Not to disappoint people who haven’t had tickets, LED screens will be available in multiple places of the city with live streaming of the inaugural event. District headquarters, many block headquarters and ULBs will also have same facilities for the public.

Bhubaneswar City Festival (.FEST), another cultural extravaganza in the city is going to start on 1st December.
