Rourkela MLA, former Union Minister and hotelier Dilip Ray of BJP yesterday announced that he would soon resign from the house as a mark of protest against the inordinate delay in construction of the second Brahmani bridge and Centre’s failure to upgrade Ispat General Hospital and Medical College in Rourkela.
PM Narendra Modi had announced both the project during his visit to Rourkela in 2015. For past two years Dilip continuously raising the issue and met PM also demanding the execution of the same.
Speculation over Dilip and his once-close political friend Bijoy’s decision of joining BJD surfaced. Both of them were the founding members of BJD back in 1997. While Bijoy was expelled in 2000, Dilip was shon the door in 2002 for their alleged anti-party activities.
