Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s leading publishing house PEN IN BOOKS (a unit of Odia Media Private Limited) came up with a new logo. The logo was unveiled at publication firm’s office in Saheed Nagar here on Sunday.
Senior poet and thinker haraprasad Das released the logo. He appreciated the new logo and neo-publishing initiatives by PEN IN Books. He also inaugurated the renovated office of Odia Media by breaking coconut.
Senior author Prakash Mohapatra, Dr Artatran Mishra, Pabitra Mohan Kar, Saqti Mohanty, Priyaranjan Mohanty, Debadatta Pati, Pranab Prakah Nayak, Amiya Dash and Pranay Sudha were also present during the launching ceremony.
Briefing about the new logo, Subhransu Panda, author, journalist and director of PEN IN BOOKS said,
We wanted to simplify our logo unlike the earlier one. Also for better visibility and to avoid over-gorgeousness we used black and gray colours in this new logo. The ascending shape symbolises progress in publication and literature, while multiple solid squares represents the unity of authors, artists and intellectuals. The gray square in the middle denotes our existence, uniqueness and visibility.
Speaking about the past logos he further added,
Our first logo was designed by famous painter Baladev Maharatha in 2006 when I ventured into publishing business. It was a a black & white fountain pen nib with PEN IN written on its top in green and red colour. Later in 2015 as we entered our 10th year of publication, we changed the logo again. We used only black and red colour in that logo. It was a black nib pointed towards top on red background. The Odia letter ‘A’ in white colour was also put on the black nib.
A new literary outfit Ranga Sabha was also born on Sunday at PEN IN Books office. All participant authors including haraprasad Das became the founder member of the outfit. It’s decided to hold an monthly meeting of Ranga Sabha at PEN IN Books office every month end.
Four volumes of Haraprasad Das’s poetry collections were also released during first ever Ranga Sabha.
Haraprasad Das said,
Ranga Sabha will become one of its kind literary hubs to discuss and share ideas among like-minded literary fellows. It’s like an evening coffee house.
