Bhubaneswar: By introducing Peoples Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives (PEETHA), Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directly accepted that corruption was prevalent in Government Schemes, accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a press release BJP’s state vice-president Sameer Mohanty criticised the PEETHA scheme introduced yesterday by the state government to create awareness about various government schemes and ensure transparency.
Sameer Mohanty said that,
Earlier CM announced to stop PC system and it proved that PC was prevalent in the state. Similarly as the election is nearing now he woke up to get people good governance through PEETHA. Now this is clearly indicating that for last 18 years good governance was not there is Odisha.
He said that, PEETHA proved that corruption and misuse of government schemes was there in Odisha for last 8 years. Only to woo rural voters and to hide their failures the BJD led government is playing this transparency game, added Mohanty.
He further said that no scheme in Odisha was successful. People doesn’t get the outcome of the schemes. Some places ghost beneficiaries are getting pensions, somewhere else mayor has a ration card. In this state an MLA’s brother is getting MGNREGA job card. No pucca house or toilet being issued without PC. In this situation CM’s advocacy for transparency is a mockery, said Mohanty.
