New Delhi: Young Odia legislator Anubhav Patnaik joined PRS Conference 2018 as a panelist here. He spoke on ‘Building Effective Legislature’ yesterday afternoon.
Speaking at the conference, Patnaik stressed on his difficulties to meet expectations of constituents as a first time MLA. He spoke about his initiatives that helped him balance the difficulties with his constitutional mandate.
The Khandapada MLA also shared his experience as a legislator at Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Odisha Bidhan Sabha sits for an average of 50-60 days in a year. This gives us a good platform to discuss constituency-level concerns in the Assembly.
Other panelists in that session (session-3) were P. Thiagarajan, MLA Tamil Nadu and Qazi Md. Nizamuddin, MLA, Uttarakhand. Centre for Policy Research is a non-partisan (CPR) President Ms. Yamini Aiyar was moderating the session.
The one day event was organised by Delhi based non-profit PRS Legislative Research at India International Centre.
