10% Quota Bill Passed in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha passed the 10% quota bill today with 165 votes which one of the historic economical reservation bill.

The Upper House of the Parliament is having total of 172 seats out of which only 7 were against it.

Yesterday only  the Constitution (124th Amendment 2019) bill providing for 10 per cent reservation for the economically weaker sections among the general category in government service and higher educational institutions was passed by Lok Sabha. It was passed on the last day of the winter session of the Lower House on Tuesday with 323 votes in favour and just three were against. 39 members participated. Now Proclamation by the President is sought under Article 356 of the Constitution.
