Bhubaneswar: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar is all set to organise the first ever poetry festival in its campus. The conclave will witness a huge gathering of young literary minds on 9th February.
Abhivyakti, the literary club of IIT Bhubaneswar has announced the festival details in a press meet held inside the campus last evening. The day long poetry Conclave named “Kavyanjali” will be held on 9th February 2019. Kavyanjali will showcase young literary talents. Young poets from IIT Bhubaneswar, other institutions in Odisha as well as from other parts of the country are expected to participate the event.
Abhishek Mishra, Governor of the Abhivyakti club, said,
It is a step being taken by students of IIT Bhubaneswar to send a loud and clear message to all the people of Odisha and other states about the role of literature in bridging differences at the social platform. This event will provide a platform to all the poets of Odisha and other states to express their feelings, thoughts, and emotions in the form of magical words of poetry.
The event will be held at the Community Centre inside the IIT Bhubaneswar campus. Many of renowned personalities in the field of social science and literature including celebrated poet and thinker Haraprasad Das, social activist Padmashree D Prakash Rao, poet Saqti Mohanty, author, poet Artatran Mishra, journalist and publisher Subhransu Panda, poet Swapna Behera, poet Gayatri Mavuru, poet Gyanendra Bharadwaj and poet Sweta Mishra will grace the conclave as guests.
During the press meet Abhishek Mishra also expressed his deepest gratitude to the Director of IIT Bhubaneswar Prof. RV Rajakumar, President of Gymkhana Dr. Sankarsan Mohapatra, and Faculty Advisor of Socio-cultural council Dr. Ankur Gupta for providing such a great opportunity to host enthusiastic poets of all over Odisha.
