Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janta Dal will finalise the list of candidates for the 4 Lok Sabha and 28 Vidhan Sabha seats at the Naveen Nivas today in the evening. For this all the candidates have been called for to be present at Naveen Nivas. In the first phase of election for the 4 Lok Sabha seats, the list of constituencies are Berhampur, Koraput, Nabrangpur and Kalahandi and for the 28 Vidhan Sabha Seats the constituencies are Berhamapur, Chatrapur, Gopalpur, Dighapahandi, Mohana, Chikiti and Parlakhemudi which comes under Berhampur.
Under Nabrangpur it is Nabrangpur, Umarkot, Jharingaon, Dabugaon, Kotpad, Malkangiri and Chitrakonda. Under Kalahandi it is Nuapada, Khariar, Lanjigarh, Junagarh, Dharmagarh, Bhawanipatna and Narla. Lastly under Koraput it is Koraput, Gunupur, Bishamkattack, Rayagada, Lakhmipur, Joeypur and Potangi. For all these the list of the candidates will be processed.
The declaration of the BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik for the 33% reservation for women in the elections have made it clear that in each of these constituencies atleast one or two women will be made candidates. Presently in these seats none of the constituencies have women candidates. Sources said that the party has decided to make atleast one women candidate to stand up for the Berhampur and Koraput constituencies.
