MP Balabhadra Majhi, MLA Sukanta Nayak Leave BJD

Bhubaneswar: Sitting Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Balabhadra Majhi resigned from the party over various issues with the party leadership while  MLA Sukanta Nayak also left the party.

A day after Nabarangpur MP Majhi deserted the ruling partty, Nilgiri MLA Nayak resigned from the primary membership of the BJD today.

When asked whether he left because the party is not giving him a ticket for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, Majhi said, I don’t think so. Ticket distribution processes have not started yet. I don’ know who will get the ticket.

However he said,

As a sitting MP, I was not called in the party meeting. I was being ignored for the past few days. People involved in the decision-making body are not informing me. I think BJD does not need me anymore. This is about my self-respect.

Similarly, Nayak alleged of a conspiracy against him which was exhibited during the joining ceremony of an Opposition party leader recently.

Nayak also alleged,

Mental torture meted out on me by Balasore District BJD president day by day. I am unable to bear the conspiracy against me. I urged the BJD supremo to accept my resignation.
