Bhubaneswar: When a part of Odisha is wounded by severe cyclonic storm Fani, even his own district is partly affected, this politician is busy in preparing strategy to win an election.
Yes, we are talking about senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Arun Kumar Sahoo, the two-time minister and three-time MLA from Nayagarh. Yesterday morning Mr Sahoo had called on his party colleagues in Bhubaneswar to prepare strategy for the Patkura Assembly Election at Kendrapara.
According to State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), around 1.4 crores people were affected by Fani and at least 35 people died. SEOC also said that 14 districts were affected by Fani including Sahoo’s home turf Nayagarh. The first Causality on May 3 was reported from Nayagarh.
Instead of going to the people, this politician, keeping himself at a safe distance from the fury, was busy in the preparatory meeting of Patkura Assembly Election. Sahoo and his party-men were heavily criticised on social media for this heartless approach.
Meanwhile, Election Commission of India (ECI) has postponed the election in Patkura. ECI has decided to extend the completion of the elections for 60 days.
