Google Pays Tribute To Legendary Veteran Actor Amrish Puri On 87th Birth Anniversary

New Delhi:Today the tech giant Google paid tribute to legendary Bollywood actor Amrish Puri on his 87th birth anniversary with a doodle. He is considered as one of the best villains in the history of Bollywood and was popular for playing iconic characters like Mogambo in ‘Mr India’ and Baldev Singh in ‘Dilwale .
Amrish Puri was born in Punjab on June 22, 1932. He landed his first role at the age of 39 and marked the beginning of his journey in Bollywood as one of the most iconic villains of all time. He made his Bollywood debut in 1971 film ‘Reshma Aur Shera’. After a decade, he played the role of Khan, a supporting character in Oscar-winning film ‘Gandhi’.
Some of Puri’s dialogues have become his legacy. From “Mogambo khush hua” in ‘Mr India’ to “Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi” in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaenge’, his dialogues are remembered even today. He was starred in 200 films in over half-a-dozen languages like Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and more, Puri made a mark in Bollywood.
