Bhubaneswar: Today Bhubaneswar is going to witness the biggest congregation of journalists and representatives of various media organizations of the state. Odisha’s leading media and publishing house Odia Media is going to host “Odisha Media Conclave 2019”, the first ever festival of journalism, at Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
All forms of media have equally been important for development since the inception of the society. Media, as a medium of communication, plays an important role in overall development of the society by informing and disseminating knowledge, creating awareness on various issues that are important for the society. In Fact, the media affect our aesthetic, cultural, civic, social, political and economic outlook. This first ever media conclave will shed light on these topics and it will be instrumentally an opportunity to retrospect the media culture in Odisha.
Subhransu Panda, Festival Director, said,
The core idea of the festival is to celebrate the spirit of journalism as well as to discuss various issues related to the industry. This conclave is all set to exchange ideas between journalists and other stakeholders on various issues related to journalism and its relation and impact on society and culture. We will discuss and debate the problems and scopes in Odisha’s media. We will also have an interactive session with political representatives dealing the media from various parties.
Harihar Panda, Member of the organizing committee, said,
This festival will create more rooms to share ideas and personal experiences among friends from our journalist fraternity.
Ramachandi Prasad Ranasingh, Festival Coordinator, said,
The one day event will unite journalists, representatives from educational institutions, politicians, policymakers and students together under one roof.
Festival Director Mr Panda also informed that the festival will start today at 10 am. After the inaugural session there will be four debate sessions. Representatives from Television Channels, Newspapers, Portals, Media Institutions, Political Parties and Government will take part in debate, he added.
