World’s Biggest Coastal Cleanup Campaign At Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A massive beach cleanup drive was held at 100 different locations in Puri to mark the International Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday. Thousands of volunteers have participated in the mega drive.
The Puri district administration under the direct supervision of district Collector Balwant Singh initiated the campaign under the banner of ‘Mo Beach’ cleaning programme.
As part of the programme, more than 100 km of coastline will be cleaned.
Forest and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal and internationally acclaimed artist and writer Nandita Das were spotted at the drive while supporting the initiative.
“Puri is the pride of our country and I am happy to be a part of world’s mega clean-up drive here at the sea beach,” said Jammwal.
