Bhubaneswar: As severe cyclonic storm Fani is expected to make landfall this morning at Puri, coastal areas including Bhubaneswar are severing with rain.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) staffs took precautions to avoid any water-logging situation in the capital city. BMC staffs were seen clearing choked drains today morning at vulnerable places like ISKCON Temple.
BMC officials tweeted,
BMC staff working continuously without any excuses to ensure cleaner drains. Lets pledge not to choke-up our drains by dumping garbage.
Tree branches were also cut down at several places in the city. People living in week huts were also shifted to safe shelters. According to BMC, 135 temporary cyclone shelters have been opened in the city to accommodate more than 70,000 needy people.
