RBI Deputy Governor Viral Acharya Resigns Six Month Before Term Ends

Mumbai:RBI Governor Viral Acharya resigns before the end of his term. He joined central back in 2017.The 45-year-old’s term was scheduled to end in February. Acharya is the second top RBI official to quit after Urijit Patel. Mr Acharya was appointed as one of the four deputy governors at the central bank in December 2016, after Urjit Patel was promoted to be the governor.
According to sources, Viral is returning to the New York University Stern School of Business as an Economics professor in August.
